The standard sole is closed around the needle a special quilting sole is open in front to allow full view of the needle and a sole with a central guide for edge stitching and stitching in the ditch. It is therefore particularly suitable for patchwork projects with 1 4 6mm or 1 8 3mm seam allowances. This foot was engineered to allow you to sew with longarm quilting rulers on a domestic bernina machine to create decorative quilt designs like lines feathers circles and more. Patchwork foot with guide 57 differs from patchwork foot 37 only in that it has a built in seam guide along the right edge of the foot.

Bernina presser feet are numbered and may have one or two additional versions with a letter that follows the number such as edgestitch foot 10c or jeans foot 8d. The clear sole makes it easy to see the fabric under the sole of the foot as you stitch. Embroidery foot 26 is the current present foot included with bernina embroidery machines but can be used for many free motion techniques. The bernina walking foot 50 has three interchangeable soles specifically made to help you perfectly space your stitches.

Quilting foot 29 29c is a foot designed for quilting on both thick and thin battings.
